Oh no started a fabric obsession

I think this might be a new problem and I am starting to want to buy loads of fabric, and find myself staring at all of the lovely fabrics available on Milton Keynes market...so today I bought a metre of each of these fabrics...spending £9  - so now what to make with it all?

Little Tote Bag

Something different from me this week, I have got the sewing machine out.  It literally hasn't seen the light of day for 10 years at least, possibly more.

I started out by making a curtain to cover the open shelf in my new craft room, I am awaiting a new pole to complete it - so will take a photo later.  But as I was at the fabric stall I decided to buy a metre of fabric and searched around the internet for inspiration and found this cute mini tote - see on  my pinterest board the yellow one.

The instructions are really easy to follow and it is fully lined so that all the ends are neatly tucked away.

I did also add a little pocket ... just because

.......and have now made another with a bright pink flower this time.

Loved making them and am now looking for similar simple projects like this - anyone got an ideas?

So onto the flower, I bought a Kanzashi flower maker whilst on holiday last summer, and I have finally broken it out of the package - and have to say it really is great.  They are so simple to make and quite addictive - but I nnow need more things to put them on, not so sure brooches are really the way to go? http://www.clover-usa.com/en/17-kanzashi-flower-makers This one was my first attempt, have done a few more now.

This is the actual one I used: http://www.clover-usa.com/en/kanzashi-flower-makers/380-kanzashi-flower-maker-round-petal-small-2-inches.html

Making miniatures using the silhouette

A few months ago I had a lovely time playing with the Silhouette, making miniature boxes these are supposed to be 1/12th scale, I just found various images off the internet and made up boxes and packets by filling in the colours, and creating logos on the side.

I also made use of my new Martha Stewart score board that I bought on a recent US trip as of course it was a bargain

And these were a few Christmas decorations with boxes made on the Silhouette, sorry old new news...but thought it was worth a share.

Quick cards

This first one not so quick, but a stamp I got whilst in Florida last summer, pretty stamp, looking like the Rudbeckia that I grew from seed last year, and flowered into the Autumn.

And a few more from the past

So another quick post with cards from last year...the first one was using up some odd bits of paper day!

And these are all very girlie, as you can see.

It is my turn to 'man' the Ampthill Country Market stall today, check out the link to the blog on the top menu.  If you are local it would be lovely to see you at the stall.  And if you make, bake or grow you could join us.

I really fancy getting out my sewing machine from the back of the cupboard, and need some inspiration for something that is quick to make.  It really has not seen the light of day for so long I don;t even know if it will work!

I have started looking around at some blogs, and started adding them onto here so that I can check them out from time to time.

I bought this stamp a while back and didn't get around to doing much with it, I like the simple effect of using one ink.

And here are a couple of similar cards with one ink pad, and no other colours.  I loved just choosing the colours and papers and keeping it simple. The white card is a textured card..

Some cards from last year

I didn't post much on here, and card making was a little sporadic, so thought I would put a few on here as a 'gallery' trying to remind myself what I had done, and need to make something a bit different, need some inspiration....help :)

I bought these 3 stamps together from Lili of the Valley stamps, and clearly made with summer in mind..I have loads of little flowers and loads of beads - and I need to use some of them up to make some room!

I am just sharing a couple of cards I made last year...I know you have already seen the bike stamp this year,...

....but I just love the bike stamp that I bought whilst on holiday last summer, so pretty..  I have seen bikes used in real gardens covered in flowers,  they look really effective.

Have to say the paper was perfect with this stamp.

As I manage to sell a few cards at a local tea shop Cakestand and Crumb I like to make cards with a tea theme, so here are a few of my favourite ones :)

You really must visit Cakestand and Crumb if you have not been before, they do fabulous light lunches and gorgeous cakes, along with afternoon teas :)

It is nice to be able to sell a few cards means I can buy more stuff and make more cards!

I even got the eyelets out for this one, not used them in ages.....

March Time to Create

We have returned to putting up a monthly Time to Create Challenge, it can be an craft project from card making to knitting.....you get the idea.

So following my major tidy up I have been inspired to get card making again...although still tidying and sorting...so this morning I have posted the TTC.

So the challenge is to make something with a retro theme or style....and if this does not inspire I want to see a project that includes some beads.....

The light seems to be not so good, I should have ventured outside to take a photo as it is a beautiful sunny day this morning.

Not quite retro, but has beads so good enough to show.

Which reminds me I subscribed to year on Ancestry - I have been doing my family tree for years now on and off, and I see that they have many new records on there, so in between crafting I get sidetracked wandering around on there.
