Carole Matthews

Tonight I went along to the Ampthill library to listen to author Carole Matthews chat about her new book The Chocolate Lovers Club. Rachel (Firefly) from the Ampthill forum very kindly gave me a ticket - and what a good evening it was. Carole is a lovely lady - she read excerpts from her book, and also told us all the things she had learnt about chocolate in the name of research. Very amusing speaker.

She also gave us an insight into how she became an author - she started out as a secretary and then an aromatherapist. Submitted an short story for a competition and won. She invested her winnings into a course on wriing - wow how in awe am I of someone like that. A very inspiring story. She lives locally in MK.

Ampthill library did a fabby spread too - and they provided a chocolate fountain, marshmallows, strawberries, chocolate biscuits..as well as tea and coffee etc. there was also a free raffle - but I didn't win :( - Rachel did!

Sarah was also there and she is the one that will be starting a book club - which I am looking forward to....most of the other members of the club were there too. So looking forward to our first meet in two weeks.

I bought one of Carole's books and she kindly signed it so that I can sell it on Ebay for a £1 or two more tee hee. Apparently she based it on her cousins wedding!

All in all a good evening.

The BIG challenge still continues on the forum - and there is still plenty of time to catch up and join in. Everyone seems to be having a great time making things.....
