I have been wanting to make a few bags with inset zips, and wasn't sure the best way to go about it.
I always look at YouTube for inspiration and used these 2 for construction ideas. I adjusted the sizes as I didn't have any long zips.
Blue one - which I also used thin poly wadding
The one that has not got the pink is the same - but only used iron on interfacing, and just joined the bag together in on go as in this video:
Simpler but different effect
...this one is then the one with pink insert, - will take another picture so you can see the zipped part.
Like the challenge of this, and looking for different ways to achieve a similar look:
