<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgytHSl4vMYzAiHRiF0kN_H4js41eF54Nctc2pMVWMMUYSQuoHbg5l0GMbMy6Ab07YHjO75P0VrHXbKoCz7tt5jLVttylEEztMJ-0O5RGmmJjuhCJ__caov1HomSna8cf8vgwIq/s1600/IMG_20200508_135721_Bokeh.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgytHSl4vMYzAiHRiF0kN_H4js41eF54Nctc2pMVWMMUYSQuoHbg5l0GMbMy6Ab07YHjO75P0VrHXbKoCz7tt5jLVttylEEztMJ-0O5RGmmJjuhCJ__caov1HomSna8cf8vgwIq/s640/IMG_20200508_135721_Bokeh.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have had this recipe in my 'collection' for so long now and never made it, someone gave it to me a long time ago, and think it was a family recipe, was so easy.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Make tea; add fruit; leave overnight; stir in rest of ingredients - my recipe said use normal black tea, but I went fancy and made Earl Grey - although I am not fancy enough to have any in the house, I had some delivered from a friend who walked them round on Thursday!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is what I did..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used <b>3 tea bags and 10 flozs of boiling water - 1/2 pint.</b> I let it brew for a while.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
weighed out <b>12 ozs of dried fruit</b> - the recipe said 6oz of each sultanas and raisins, but I added a few cherries as I had some in the cupboard and just made up to the 12ozs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Put the fruit in a large enough bowl that you are going to make the cake, add the brewed tea, leave overnight. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
NB My recipe said to add the sugar at this point, however I googled a recipe - (<a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/earl_grey_tea_bread_48452" target="_blank">Mary Berry was first up</a>), and she added later which is what I did.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
with regards to the sugar I have been unable to get any light muscovado sugar (as per Mary) since lockdown, I have some dark and some demerera...and loads of white as each time I have asked for caster sugar I have had granulated as a sub from Tesco. So a mix is what I chose, I thought all dark would be too much - and I also didn't have that much in the cupboard!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Back to the recipe - having left the fruit over night, now add</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>8oz of brown sugar </b>and </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>10 oz of Self raising flour</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
mix throughly and then add <b>1 large egg</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(due to lockdown large seems impossible to get, so medium it was)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My mix was a bit on the dry side - so added a drop of milk - not much, just enough so that the mix moved, both my recipes said that the mix would be wet...so can only assume my fruit was drier than some! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Put in a 2lb loaf tin and cook on 130c for 1 and 3/4 hours - keep an eye on it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1mc66D2oG0CchM-rHtKSdPvMp4E1p7agUDIyJfLeDU9EY0puCWBWcnXBZvso1BsTAJG82jbB5zdww8Ye_Ss7cAZaj_0Bi72IG_2qHrrLT-to6X1abtljfxobxn56Wml6cdOVc/s1600/IMG-20200507-WA0015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="895" data-original-width="1368" height="417" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1mc66D2oG0CchM-rHtKSdPvMp4E1p7agUDIyJfLeDU9EY0puCWBWcnXBZvso1BsTAJG82jbB5zdww8Ye_Ss7cAZaj_0Bi72IG_2qHrrLT-to6X1abtljfxobxn56Wml6cdOVc/s640/IMG-20200507-WA0015.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A different day to the one the nation had planned, I decided to make some bunting a mix of fabric and paper, as I have no red fabric. Then used the Country Market bunting!<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We were planning to do something at <a href="https://countrymattershexton.blogspot.com/search/label/VE%20Day" target="_blank">Country Matters Hexton</a> and had plans to decorate the shop....<br />
<br />
My parents were both around in the war - Dad was in the Navy and on VE Day he was in Holland, and my Mum left work early and celebrated with a friend and went to Hyde Park - she worked in Solicitors office in Bond Street, and apparently never came home and spent the night on a park bench. Wonder what my Nan thought, guess she didn't text her!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This week continuing in the lockdown gardening project, on Tuesday I cleared the ivy from the corner and painted the fence as my paint was finally delivered, and could restart my fence painting. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_2lbfJX5QNIpG5mlWNPoTcGoaiYj4s6VRBskQJhqlA2VBCupqXuQRHEzcf2WHBUWEqUVnK95j-AcyjFiFNXsLmv9z995FYud9yI8Wsw2Gkegj2fXeDpiZlYaDlZJ5ymrs61yh/s1600/IMG-20200507-WA0003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1158" data-original-width="893" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_2lbfJX5QNIpG5mlWNPoTcGoaiYj4s6VRBskQJhqlA2VBCupqXuQRHEzcf2WHBUWEqUVnK95j-AcyjFiFNXsLmv9z995FYud9yI8Wsw2Gkegj2fXeDpiZlYaDlZJ5ymrs61yh/s320/IMG-20200507-WA0003.jpg" width="246" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then yesterday I picked up these little fences from round the corner that someone was getting rid of, so soon had them painted and installed.</div>
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So now my messy corner is looking much tidier. Was so excited, with this lockdown all of these little things make it seem like Christmas.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A friend popped some Earl Grey tea bags round so that i could make a tea loaf, if it looks OK I will post some pictures tomorrow!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
so something crossed of the list!</div>
<div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
<li style="text-align: left;">put lots of plants in</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">plant up veg plots - all seeds sown and plants ready - just waiting for frosts to be gone</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">finish painting fence (paint being delivered tomorrow)</li>
<li style="text-align: left;"><strike>tidy up that top corner</strike></li>
<li style="text-align: left;">finish painting arbour (roof and seat done)</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">give shed another coat of Sadolin (just collected more paint)</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">paint table</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">paint footstool again</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">get a mirror (I think it will be nice) - maybe 2 in both seating areas</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">finish slabs by waterbutt</li>
<li style="text-align: left;"><strike>DO THE FRONT GARDEN (this is a mess...stressing me out just thinking about it</strike></li>
<li style="text-align: left;">top border - remove ivy and generally tidy</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">weed top left hand corner, and cover with bark</li>
</ul>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">I actually tidied a lot of the front garden, so it is sort of crossed of for now, I think I need to get someone to take a couple of the conifers down, as they are just too big, and one is super prickly. </span><div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">But....I have decided to do some edging on the top border now...so new on the list. Already starting to collect some more bricks from out the back. Not sure I will get enough.</span></span><br />

I have finally (well almost) finished the edging around the flower beds, so can now strim around them, hopefully it will be easier than all the shears and edging tool - only time will tell - super neat at the moment. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today I mowed the lawn and took these photos, I have now removed all the forget-me-knots that have self seeded around the garden, easy enough to remove and give colour when not much else in the garden. I have started planting so hopefully I will have some colour in the summer. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: left;">put lots of plants in</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">plant up veg plots - all seeds sown and plants ready - just waiting for frosts to be gone</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">finish painting fence (paint being delivered tomorrow)</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">tidy up that top corner</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">finish painting arbour (roof and seat done)</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">give shed another coat of Sadolin (just collected more paint)</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">paint table</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">paint footstool again</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">get a mirror (I think it will be nice) - maybe 2 in both seating areas</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">finish slabs by waterbutt</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">DO THE FRONT GARDEN (this is a mess...stressing me out just thinking about it)</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: left;">
And finally 2 new additions to the garden - I thought they were cute - and fill a gap!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv3mhzsVggQcpun87kmV4D5Q4N9O7WEEHrVKY9aV_Z854CBj1SoEk8EFNzBXTz5CORMpjV6LE34Vni8oZ9JUfoUZ8TkpEdauoxinrw-0SBJpNsrxK_Pa29FmjewzP_nr76oQw6/s1600/mugmats.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="643" data-original-width="746" height="275" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv3mhzsVggQcpun87kmV4D5Q4N9O7WEEHrVKY9aV_Z854CBj1SoEk8EFNzBXTz5CORMpjV6LE34Vni8oZ9JUfoUZ8TkpEdauoxinrw-0SBJpNsrxK_Pa29FmjewzP_nr76oQw6/s320/mugmats.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have so many scraps of fabric, and I never seem to throw them away, they get put in a box and there they stay! So rainy day Friday I decided I need to do something abut this - but had no idea what I could do. </div>
<a name='more'></a>I searched around the internet and found instructions to make mug mats (or also called a mug rug) - this one was stitched onto wadding so really quick and easy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just can't find the link again grrr even going back over my search history, the one with the mug on was her design.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then played about with various maths and did the second one. You could go onto quilt them as well once stitched, but I didn't - lack of decision really.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I backed with a piece of fabric 2 inches bigger than the finished patchwork piece, I actually stitched the 2 longs sides together rights sides together and then folded 2 short sides in. I cut out some of the bulk in the corners and folded in to make a mitre, then stitched all the way around.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I reckon I could still do some simple quilting at this stage, maybe I will give it a go.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The garden is continuing with an excess amount of attention this year, and many seeds have been planted as I have been going through loads of old packets that my Dad gave me last summer....many years out of date. He used to get a regular garden magazine with free seeds, and kept them all.<br /><br />I have now taken out a sub for Garden Answers with Tesco vouchers - and free seeds with every issue.....</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The next flower bed is trimmed with bricks, these ones I found at the back of the house, where there used to be an old brick wall and it fell down and has been replaced. I hadn't realised that many of the old bricks were left there. Been searching for them as they are buried now - been a bit like an archaeological dig.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
These headbands are being worn by facemask wearers, as wearing one can make your ears ache, so I made a few following one of the many patterns on various Facebook groups. I couldn't get anyone local to reply on FB - so in the end I posted them to an address that someone gave me in Wigan.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope that they are OK for them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After much research I did find that you can buy your postage from the Royal Mail website (which I know they have been doing something like that for years) but what I didn't know is there are parcel 'boxes' dotted around and so maybe next time I will put them in a box and make more.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.royalmail.com/d8/parcel-post-boxes">https://www.royalmail.com/d8/parcel-post-boxes</a> there is one just around the corner from the diaysis unit.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got mixed reviews on Hermes, so in the end gave them a miss, I needed something that was contactless.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFuZk6f-3D1ALBLUIMSrhwwhWKGb1eGjSuozAdlRj05lnQzj4GRrkzMqQWNzIGXZucwhMeBl6tWXkf5XcHzFyLbeCAn80ruWySUrYYl_h5wzeBJKcEasxvQ0lWu8WG0a84ah7K/s1600/IMG_20200412_111241.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFuZk6f-3D1ALBLUIMSrhwwhWKGb1eGjSuozAdlRj05lnQzj4GRrkzMqQWNzIGXZucwhMeBl6tWXkf5XcHzFyLbeCAn80ruWySUrYYl_h5wzeBJKcEasxvQ0lWu8WG0a84ah7K/s320/IMG_20200412_111241.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Been working on a patchwork hardstanding at the rear of the shed, we can't see this from the house, and is now my compost and various paraphernalia storage area. It was difficult to mow, as the water butt was sticking out. So need to square it off.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Please note I do have more compost at the moment as wasn't sure if I would be able to get any more" So this above was stage one as I was given the pavior bricks from a lovely local resident. Then a few days later I was offered some 4 paving slabs - from another great person. FB groups are great for this, I often use Freecycle and Freegle but wanted to keep things as local as possible.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Some of the bricks I put in my trolley and walked them home - that was hard work!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKc07F-tm0b6wvSLqDWH0G4ks3sf5oaFm8hbkMNxxnUwf4ylpJ298hhUluXS-VkSlALvlycxM8Tjw6TDoGUBFMe7mgUxRom2wyPdWtHCrQtVedGPnbp8Rs-KYKkNc0_pcBXD0v/s1600/IMG_20200424_170019.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKc07F-tm0b6wvSLqDWH0G4ks3sf5oaFm8hbkMNxxnUwf4ylpJ298hhUluXS-VkSlALvlycxM8Tjw6TDoGUBFMe7mgUxRom2wyPdWtHCrQtVedGPnbp8Rs-KYKkNc0_pcBXD0v/s400/IMG_20200424_170019.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have now added the 4 pavings slabs here - need to cut in final one but ran out of energy. I am just laying directly onto the earth for now as don't really have many other options...it is fine, and solving my mowing problem for this season at least. How lovely is the choisya, and scented too, it is now tucked away and I can't see it from the house any more due to the new shed, and a bit big to move now. Fence needs painting too...awaiting a delivery...hopefully soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was given the other bricks you can see the pile in the top picture, and I have now laid them all around this flower bed, so that I can strim the edge now, so hopefully it will last for a few years.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Wish I could nip out and buy a couple of new plants to pop in, but will just fill with some annuals that I currently am raising from seed and plug plants, this year. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Our first day of isolation for Coronavirus started on 13th March, we have now completed 6 weeks....we have many, many more. Today decided to have a positive day and started the day with my now regular weekly weigh in. As I had not gained weight I decided to start the day with American pancakes. </div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For lunch I had scallop and prawn salad, still felt like holiday, with such beautiful sunshine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I picked some choisya, as the bush is absolutely covered in flowers now, and it is completely tucked behind the shed now that we have replaced it for a bigger model. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a lovely chat this morning with a friend via video, been a busy video socialising week....2 on Tuesday, one on Wednesday and 2 friends on Thursday. Probably more than I would have chatted if I was out and about!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then returned to a little more gardening this afternoon.</div>

We have a Muntjac deer that seems to have moved in to the front garden next door. The house is currently empty, so are not being disturbed. I think it is a she - as not antlers. Sorry the pictures are not very good, as they are through the window, she soon runs off at the slightest noise.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: center;">
Now my neighbour over the road has said that she looks big...and maybe pregnant.....haven't spotted her today, so need to get some more photos to see if she is increasing in size!</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRTY9OhsNW-sKZ6Sk0YHTMIUAKD6YGeL26Wj5Sm4movOnC_tnSs8T1hdFuAx7xTzmKLx50K0ggi2rDeACp1TTYggxzZm4L3oqj5kxzACVyLL22Gr_XptEnRVqXx0Kt91Zp2Mkz/s1600/IMG_20200411_130245_Bokeh.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="892" data-original-width="800" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRTY9OhsNW-sKZ6Sk0YHTMIUAKD6YGeL26Wj5Sm4movOnC_tnSs8T1hdFuAx7xTzmKLx50K0ggi2rDeACp1TTYggxzZm4L3oqj5kxzACVyLL22Gr_XptEnRVqXx0Kt91Zp2Mkz/s400/IMG_20200411_130245_Bokeh.jpg" width="357" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Day 1 of Week 5 (36 days), the 'boredom' of being locked in is kinda of annoying me now! Today I baked. Fancied making biscuits - shouldn't really as can't freeze them, so they will need eating. This one was Mary Berry's Fork biscuits - but there are loads of similar recipes out there.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
It was chosen as I only have a spare bag of SR flour - very little plain!<br />
<br />
<b>Ingredients</b><br />
100g (4oz) butter - take out of fridge 1 hour before or pop in the microwave for 20 seconds<br />
50g (2oz)<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>sugar<br />
150g (5oz) self-raising flour<br />
<br />
Preheat the oven to 180°C /fan 160°C/ gas 4<br />
<br />
Beat the butter and sugar together until nice and soft, add the flour - at this point I added grated zest of a lemon and an orange - I reckon cinnamon or ginger would work, or vanilla essence.<br />
<br />
You will need to use your hands at this point it is quite a dry mix, I made 17 of them, you roll into little balls - they are quite small, so maybe make them bigger next time. Flatten with a fork, they did not flatten at all in cooking like a lot of biscuit recipes, so mine were 'taller' than I expected, but were lovely!<br />
<br />
Bake for just over 15 minutes until a very pale golden.<br />
<br />
I mixed the juice of a lemon with some icing sugar to liven them up.<br />
<br />
<b>Flowers</b><br />
The flowers were picked in the garden, forget me nots - never ever planted these, along with lovely primulas, that are coming up in the grass, the bright orange or the English marigold were from seeds many many years ago, and they self seed every year.<br />
<br />
Lovely little square jar re-used & re-purposed to make a vase.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGXsx8XgKiVUf5zbBgW2_17nr_o_liM1hYV20iofeSlcRmqSTGrawW3V8cvPBuHc344PZBPQuouC-5Wcyz-fC-e6MJp4D2Br7kvQzSiqE7Dnd2WzbPX2twpLp69JvMO8Rj3sTS/s1600/IMG_20200408_121156.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1121" data-original-width="1000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGXsx8XgKiVUf5zbBgW2_17nr_o_liM1hYV20iofeSlcRmqSTGrawW3V8cvPBuHc344PZBPQuouC-5Wcyz-fC-e6MJp4D2Br7kvQzSiqE7Dnd2WzbPX2twpLp69JvMO8Rj3sTS/s320/IMG_20200408_121156.jpg" width="285" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I keep looking for a reasonably priced watering can for indoors with a rose, and have never seen one. Decided that I would amend a milk bottle - by making holes in the lid. but the bottle was too squidgy and water came out of the sides of the cap.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So plan B was to try an old fizzy water bottle - and they are just perfect to water the seeds.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made the holes with a random item found in the cutlery drawer, and heated it a bit first.</div>
